ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reporting to the Regional CFO, manage the purchasing/procurement of strategic goods and services for the Copper Africa Region to ensure maximum savings and value add according to strategic needs of the business and to lead a team of Commercial professionals in respect of all functional areas.

 KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
-Local Asset Leads
-Local Asset CFO’s
-Local Asset Commercial teams
-Other Regional Leads
-Regional Finance and Commercial team
-Commercial Leads – Copper Region (e.g., South America, North America, Australia)
-Commercial Lead – Copper Global
-Global Inbound Procurement (GIP) – Group

QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree preferably in Commercial, Supply Chain, Legal and/or Engineering disciplines

Competencies:
-French language proficiency advantageous
-Demonstrated experience managing Commercial and regulatory processes to ensure operational effectiveness
-ERP knowledge of SAP
-Proven track record for problem solving and successfully delivering projects
-Demonstrated history of managing large teams of highly skilled and experienced personnel with diverse cultural backgrounds in a fast-paced environment

Work Experience:
-Minimum 5-10 years relevant professional Commercial experience including logistics and contract management in large organisations, influencing and shaping the organisation at a senior management level
– Minimum 5-10 years relevant experience as a manager in a mining related environment or projects
-Experience with Commercial operational activities is a requirement
-Previous mining experience preferred

 GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
-Develop and implement a long-term Commercial strategy for the Region to optimise logistics, procurement, inventory, and warehousing costs whilst managing the supply risk to the business.
-Design and implement a Commercial structure (incl. organizational design, systems, deliverables, standards, KPI’s, etc.) in compliance with relevant Group and Copper Global frameworks (e.g., systems, standards) and taking into consideration requirements from Local Assets.
-Procurement planning and execution across the Region.
-Manage the fulfilment of end-user requirements, cost effectively, sustainably, and ethically.
-Relationship management of key supplier accounts.
-Lead negotiations to extend contract coverage and rationalise supply base.
-Oversee the purchasing, warehousing, and inventory control across the Region.
-Undertake planning and forecasting to ensure sustained and optimised production across the Region.
-Provide intelligence on inventory levels to manage shortages, constraints, and supplier performance.
-Ensure correct maintenance of systems for recording, managing, and reporting of supply activity, and auditing of transactions.
-Review and identify opportunities for improvement in logistics, warehousing, inventory management, working capital management and purchasing activities.
-Manage compliance against relevant Group and Copper Global policies and procedures and any local statutory requirements (incl. delegated authorities).
-Establish and maintain processes to manage supplier relationships between the business and contracted suppliers.
-Lead Commercial teams across the Region by setting performance goals and managing reviews and contributes to the preparation of personal development and training plans.
-Manage and control funds allocated within budgetary requirements.
